Welcome to our Parish Associations! Here at Welcome, we are dedicated to making a positive impact on the local community through our various community outreach programs. Our Parish Associations, including the Alter Boys Association, Anti Alcoholic Association, Bereavement Fund (Marana Sahaayanidhi), Cherupushpa Mission League, Jesus Youth, KLCA, KLCWA, KLM, Kolping India, Legion of Mary, Marian Sodality, Marriage Aid Fund (Vivaha Sahaayanidhi), Vidhava Association, Vidyaa Jothi Vidyaabhyaasa Fund (Education Fund), and Vincent De Paul, are committed to helping those in need. Following the teachings of Luke 6:30, we provide assistance and support to everyone who seeks our help. Join us in this mission and be a part of our Parish Associations. At St. Mary’s Church, our mission and purpose is clear – to serve and uplift our community with love, compassion, and unwavering support. As a Roman Catholic church located in Edakochi, Kerala, we are committed to making a positive impact on the lives of those in need. Guided by the teachings of Luke 6:30, we believe in giving to everyone who seeks our help. Associations

Alter Boys Association

An individual who aids a priest or minister during liturgical services is commonly referred to as an altar boy or altar servant. These altar servers carry out many of the duties that were traditionally fulfilled by acolytes, the clerics from the previous “minor order” in the ordinal hierarchy.

Anti Alcoholic Association

Welcome to St. Mary’s Church, home to a truly impactful Anti-Alcoholic Association.  Through our Parish Associations, including the Anti-Alcoholic Association, we create a safe and supportive environment where individuals can find solace, encouragement, and the resources they need to overcome their challenges.

Bereavement Fund (Marana Sahaayanidhi)

Our Bereavement Fund, is a financial resource or assistance program created to provide support to individuals or families who have suffered the loss of a loved one. It offers financial aid to help cover funeral and burial expenses, ensuring that grieving families can manage the costs associated with their bereavement period.

Cherupushpa Mission League

Cherupushpa Mission League (CML) stands as a mission endeavor within the Syro Malabar Church, originating in 1947 as a grassroots effort aimed at fostering a spirit of missionary enthusiasm among the Church’s members, particularly among children and young individuals.

Jesus Youth

The Jesus Youth (JY), stands as an internationally recognized Catholic Movement, officially approved by the Holy See. It emerged from the Charismatic resurgence that gained momentum in Kerala, India during the mid-1970s. The roots of JY trace back to its inception in Kerala in 1976. Subsequently, on August 20, 2007, the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of India acknowledged JY as a national association of the faithful, solidifying this recognition on October 29, 2008.

KLCA

The Kerala Latin Catholic Association (KLCA), serves as a platform for lay individuals within the Latin Catholic Church of Kerala. KLCA units situated in the various Latin Dioceses of Kerala are considered integral parts of the KLCA network, provided they have received formal recognition from their respective Bishops. These acknowledged units collectively constitute the KLCA presence in the state of Kerala.

KLCWA

The Kerala Latin Catholic Women’s Association (KLCWA), was established in recognition of the pressing need to create a women’s organization within KRLCC, the coordinating committee for all Latin dioceses in Kerala. This organization aims to unite women from all dioceses and empower them to provide strong leadership, organize effectively, and collaborate with a shared vision in social, communal, and political matters..

KLM

The Kerala Labour Movement (KLM), serves as the official arm of the Kerala Catholic Bishop’s Council’s (KCBC) Commission for Labour, dedicated to enhancing the well-being and empowerment of workers, particularly those in the unorganized sector within Kerala. Established in 1972, it boasts a four-decade-long history of devoted service in elevating the status of unorganized laborers in the state, exemplifying its commitment to this cause.

Kolping India

The Kolping Society, established in Cologne, Germany, in 1850 amidst the Industrial Revolution, is an international organization created by Adolph Kolping, a diocesan priest. It functions as a Catholic association aimed at providing support to young journeymen by offering job training, education, and housing assistance.

Legion of Mary

The Legion of Mary is a Catholic association sanctioned by the Church, uniting Catholics under the guidance of Mary Immaculate, recognized as the Mediatrix of all Graces. This association forms a Legion dedicated to serving in the ongoing spiritual battle waged by the Church against the world and its malevolent forces. The initial enrollment of Mary’s legionaries occurred on September 7, 1921, at Myra House in Dublin, Ireland, coinciding with the eve of the feast of Our Lady’s Nativity at 8 p.m.

Marian Sodality

The Sodality of Our Lady, also referred to as the Sodality of the Blessed Virgin Mary, was established in 1563 by Jan Leunis, a young Belgian Jesuit, at the Roman College of the Society of Jesus. This society is dedicated to the veneration of the Virgin Mary within the Roman Catholic tradition.

Marriage Aid Fund (Vivaha Sahaayanidhi)

The Marriage Aid Fund, is a financial assistance program designed to support couples in need of financial help to cover the costs associated with their wedding.

Vidhava Association

A Vidhava Association, is a socio-cultural organization formed to address the needs and concerns of widows. It provides support, advocacy, and resources to widowed individuals, helping them cope with grief, financial challenges, and social isolation.

Vidyaa Jothi Vidyaabhyaasa Fund

(Education Fund)

The Education Fund, is a dedicated financial resource or initiative established to support individuals’ educational pursuits. It provides financial assistance, scholarships, or grants to students to help cover tuition fees, books, and other educational expenses. Education Funds aim to promote access to quality education and empower individuals to achieve their academic goals.

Vincent De Paul

The Society of St. Vincent de Paul, is a global Catholic voluntary association committed to the spiritual enrichment of its members by actively serving the impoverished and marginalized in society.
